Every project begins with a single idea, but it takes patience and creativity to bring that idea to life in miniature. This spotlight highlights a builder who turned a simple concept into something truly memorable.
This month's artist is Margo M., and she shares her journey around recreating a friend's workspace. He is a watchmaker, and she was trying to find tools for his trade, which is where our conversation started.

What inspired you to build this particular diorama?
"I was asked by a coworker to create a replica of a fellow co-worker's space as an X-mas gift. He is a Cuban emigree and has been a watchmaker for over 40 years."
Why did you choose to work in 1:24 scale?
"We didn't want to overwhelm him with 1:12 scale so I decided 1:24 would be the perfect size."
Which MstrcrftMinis items did you use in this project (if any)?
"I ordered from MstrcrftMinis, the three tool cabinets and the coffee mug. The top drawer of the cabinet had "tools" inside, so I was able to pry some out and use it on the desktop."
What was your favorite part of building this diorama?
"The most fun for me is collecting all the pieces I need to match the vision I have in my mind and once collected, putting it all together. The second-best thing was seeing my co-workers face when we gave him the gift. He actually got tears in his eyes. Nothing beats that!"

What is your next miniature or diorama project going to be?
My next project is a 1:24 scale Asian bedroom/dining room box."
Do you see yourself as more of a planner or an improviser when building?
"I am definitely a planner and still collecting those last pieces for it goes together. "
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your project or your process?
"MstrcrftMinis was great to work with and super helpful when I was looking for tools as 1:24 scale is limited in some areas. I'll be using their products in future dioramas and greatly appreciate all they did to help me."
